Founded in 2000, Heart of Oregon Corps has provided "work, learn, and earn"training and wage opportunities
for youth who characteristically have few prior job skills, but many prior difficulties in
connection to their schools, peers, and communities. Heart of Oregon Corps has taken referrals
from Central Oregon Juvenile Justice agencies, Department of Human Resources Case Managers,
and school counselors, all frustrated with engaging and keeping at-risk youth involved in
positive peer, learning, and recreational habits. Since its inception, Heart of Oregon Corps
has served over 750 members who have worked 150,000 hours, earning in excess of $1,000,000.
